Join our Carols at Witton event on Sunday December 1st!

A wonderful afternoon will take place at Witton Barracks Park (Lambert Rd) from 4pm where you can browse through our wonderful market stalls and pick up some Christmas presents for family & friends

Bring your picnic blanket or chairs and find a spot on the grass in front of our stage to enjoy the melodies and sing along to everyone's favourite Christmas tunes

With thanks to Rhonda from Viva La Musica who will be coordinating our wonderful performances including students from local schools.

The Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols returns bigger and better in 2024 to spread joy to the world with a dazzling evening of high kicks, high notes and hijinks.

Hosted by Queensland’s first lady of song Naomi Price, this world-class evening of entertainment features a breathtaking all-Australian line-up of superstars including Conrad Sewell, Ngaiire, Josh Pyke, Queensland Ballet, Jess Hitchcock, Emma Pask, Luke Kennedy, Fatai, Andy Cook, Dean Brady and Waveney Yasso.

Jacaranda Festival

Get ready for an incredible Jacaranda Festival in Biami Yumba Park, Fig Tree Pocket on Saturday 9 November, beginning at 2:00pm!

 

There is 16 free educational workshops and wellness sessions still open for registration—everything from yoga and robotics to mastering BBQ like a Michelin-star chef.

 

These workshops are free, but spots are limited, so make sure to register at goodpeople.com.au/workshops.

 

For some added fun, check out our neighbour-friendly Silent Disco, the only paid event, raising funds for a local school project. Here’s what’s on:

 Kids: Dance with favourite characters like Bluey, Peppa Pig, and Paw Patrol.

Teens: Enjoy an afternoon of games and great music.

Adults: Three music channels with 80s, 90s, and 00s hits, plus frozen margaritas, and craft beer—with bar proceeds supporting community projects like the seniors’ Christmas party.

 

A huge thank you to the 200+ volunteers making this event possible. You’re amazing!

Head of The Brisbane - Toowong Rowing Club

Head of the Brisbane (HOTB) is Toowong Rowing Clubs main fundraising event. It is a 9.5km time trial race starting outside the club, racing upstream, before navigating a tight turnaround and ending back at the club. The event is open to all schools, masters and high performance athletes. Further details will follow closer to the time.

The last week of August 2024 sees this wonderful group of talented women putting on a SPIRITED Spring Show at The Richard Randall Art Studio, Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha, Toowong. It is open 10am-4pm daily from 23 August to 1 September. Entry is free. 

Rejuvenate your spirits, and be uplifted as you view this stunning exhibition, and marvel at this year’s feature installation of ‘spirited’ headwear … and vote for your favourite.

This is definitely the place to admire and purchase unique handmade items for yourself and also as gifts for special people in your life … artworks, homewares, wearables including jewellery, and more.

The eight local Brisbane artists are Casandra Pyziakos, Joanna Faber, Joanne Jayne, Karoline Cumming, Malissa Johnson, Pauline Stevens, Tricia Smout and Wendy Goode.

Their creative spirits are clearly evident in their artistic approaches, employing a diverse range of techniques in a wide variety of styles. Each artist brings their energy, enthusiasm and joy to this fabulous exhibition.
