New pedestrian crossing on Moggill Road
A new pedestrian crossing across Moggill Road will be activated on Monday 17 February 2025.
The existing crossing on Moggill Road in front of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre will be removed.
The signals on the crossing are demand activated. This means the signals will only change when the buttons are pressed by those waiting to cross the road.
The stagged/staggered crossing will allow pedestrians to safely cross five lanes of Moggill Road. Prior to the upgrade, there were only four lanes on Moggill Road in this location.
The left turn out of Stamford Road will also be signalised by demand activated signals as part of this new crossing.
The new crossing will improve safety for pedestrians wanting to cross Moggill Road and Stamford Road and overall pedestrian connectivity in the area.
The staged crossing and relocation of vehicle traffic from Coonan Street onto the overpass will allow for improved traffic flow on Moggill Road in this location.
